WELDING ENGINEER

Concurrent Technologies Corporation

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop Friction Stir Welding parameters and apply to new and unique client applications
• Design and engineer FSW fixturing and other support equipment to ensure sound weld execution
• Provide hands on support to setup and perform Friction Stir Welding
• Able to develop welding projects/solutions for various DoD and commercial customers
• Familiar with standard welding practices, theory, microstructure, methods, heat inputs, cooling rates, etc.
• Able to set up welding processes and trials to determine weld metal characteristics
• Design of experiments and process modeling is a plus
• Determine appropriate mechanical testing and/or microstructure analyses of welds and weld joints

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Materials, or Welding Engineering with a minimum of 2-4 years of experience
• Basic understanding of materials and joining processes
• Friction Stir Welding experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1-2 years of welding and fabrication background (if no experience, willingness and aptitude to learn)
• 1-2 years of Friction Stir Welding experience (if no experience, willingness and aptitude to learn)
• Robotic welding experience (if no experience, willingness and aptitude to learn)
• Creative and innovative in joining technologies/materials
• Enjoy research and development type efforts
• Interest in artificial intelligence
• Interest in learning project management techniques
