Job Description

PRIMARY FUNCTION

Mid-career designer and a member of the architectural design talent team capable of excelling in a hybrid work environment. Proven experience and proficiency in architectural design, technical detailing or both able to work with minimal supervision. May direct others in pursuit of project goals. Record of collaboration, critical thinking, and leadership across multiple market sectors. Adopts and excels in implementing project standards and Revit workflows and advises others in meeting performance expectations. Ability to anticipate project's needs and proficient in design and production processes.


TYPICAL DUTIES

  • Responsible for building system design and technical quality across all phases of a project.
  • Collaborate with engineers, and other consultants using Revizto.
  • Function as discipline team leader on small and medium sized, complex projects when assigned, following the HED Design Process Guidelines.
  • Oversee project team members within the discipline when assigned.
  • Ensure that documentation reflects the projects' design intent.
  • Prepare and monitor discipline work plans.
  • Prepare and document required code research for project.
  • Create project cartoon sets and coordinate with discipline work plans.
  • Conduct material and product research as required for project development.
  • Attend and lead project meetings, as necessary.
  • Collaborate with other discipline team leaders.
  • Interface with client team members and lead client and team meetings as assigned.
  • Document interpretation and submittal reviews during bidding and construction administration.
  • Lead technical reviews in Revizto through all phases of the project to meet HED expectations for quality and project performance.
  • Manage tasks on concept board and maintain fluency in the project progress.
  • Collaborate closely with authorities having jurisdiction to secure approvals.
  • Guide team on all processes through all phases of design.
  • Monitor staff to produce quality architectural and engineering services within a project team concept.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Architecture (four year) degree.
  • Licensure preferred.
  • LEED Accredited or other sustainability credential preferred.
  • Minimum eight years' experience in A/E industry preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of all aspects of professional services from schematic design through project close-out, including design and technical expertise.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the coordination aspects and related requirements of all design disciplines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to motivate and mentor staff and delegate work assignments.
  • Proficient in BIM/Revit, Revizto, Microsoft Word, Excel, Bluebeam Concept Board required.
  • Experience in Rhino and other graphics programs preferred.
  • Robust design and graphics skills preferred.
  • Very meticulous, initiative-taking, enthusiastic, and flexible.
  • Ability to work well with others under deadlines.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Capable of traveling to and from project sites to attend client, project, and construction meetings.
  • Ability to access existing and new project sites for observation, investigation, and evaluation purposes.
  • Ability to use equipment for communication and documentation purposes.
  • Visual acuity to perform responsibilities.
