Job Description
Chemical Operator
The Chemical Operator controls or operates machinery or equipment to assist with manufacturing, packaging, and other steps along a production line. May be expected to handle heavy machinery.
Responsibilities
- Operate complex processes, adjusting diverse variables to achieve the best possible outcomes in terms of quality and productivity. Also responsible for generating solutions to simple and recurring inefficiencies.
- Carry out operational tasks by following established processes. This will involve adjusting multiple settings or parameters to meet performance standards.
- Carry out standard installation activities under detailed guidance. Troubleshoot basic technical or operational problems by applying previously defined solutions.
- Carry out standard maintenance and repair activities under detailed guidance. Troubleshoot basic technical or operational problems by applying previously defined solutions.
- Carry out relatively simple testing and quality assurance tasks.
- Follow a range of mandatory procedures and methods of work (including use of personal protection equipment where relevant) to safeguard the environment and the wellbeing of oneself and others.
Requirements
- Secondary / Intermediate + (5 GCSE)
- Sound experience and understanding of straightforward procedures or systems.
- Uses clear and effective verbal communications skills without supervision and provides technical guidance when required on expressing ideas, requesting actions and formulating plans or policies.
- Manages and applies safe systems of work without supervision and provides technical guidance when required.
- Works with guidance (but not constant supervision) to plan, organize, prioritize and oversee activities to efficiently meet business objectives.
- Works with guidance (but not constant supervision) to develop, monitor, interpret and understand policies and procedures, while making sure they match organizational strategies and objectives.
- Works with guidance (but not constant supervision) to develop appropriate plans or perform necessary actions based on recommendations and requirements.
- Works with guidance (but not constant supervision) to review and create relevant, lucid and effective reports.
- Identifies, assesses, prioritizes and manages risks in a production process with guidance (but not constant supervision)
