Location: Metairie, LA

Job Type: This is an in-person position, full time.

Job summary

We are an ambitious boutique law firm and we've grown at an extremely rapid rate over the past three years. Our team prides itself on being composed of intelligent, quick-thinking problems solvers. We see our work as exciting and we're looking for someone enthusiastic who can take initiative on complex, multi-faceted projects, and who can handle multiple cases at a time. We are currently seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Corporate Attorney to join our growing legal team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in business law, and experience in buy/sell agreements, franchises, and drafting corporate documents and agreements, as well as the ability to negotiate and close business deals. 

Responsibilities

Provide legal advice and representation to clients on a broad range of business law matters.

Draft, review, and negotiate complex corporate documents and agreements, including partnership agreements, employment contracts, and vendor agreements.

Advise clients on business transactions, including buy/sells.

Ensure compliance with relevant federal and state franchise laws and regulations.

Conduct thorough due diligence and risk assessments for potential business deals and partnerships.

Advise on corporate governance and regulatory compliance issues.

Manage and resolve legal disputes, potentially including litigation, arbitration, and mediation.

Stay current on changes in relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends.

Collaborate with internal teams and external counsel as needed.

Qualifications

Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.

Active membership in good standing with the Louisiana State Bar Association.

Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing law.

Strong financial background and experience with financial transactions.

Proven experience handling buy/sell agreements and franchise agreements.

Demonstrate expertise in drafting and reviewing corporate documents and agreements.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Familiarity with litigation and/or tax code is a plus, but not required.
