Direct Counsel, LLC is seeking a Labor and Employment Associate for a leading global law firm to join their esteemed labor and employment team in New York. This associate will primarily focus on employer-side litigation, with opportunities to engage in advisory and investigative work. The role entails handling class and representative actions in areas such as wage and hour disputes and discrimination claims. Experience with class actions will be considered a significant advantage. This role offers a unique opportunity to engage with complex labor and employment issues within a collaborative and dynamic team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Represent employers in labor and employment litigation, including class and representative actions.
  • Conduct thorough investigations and provide strategic legal advice concerning employment matters.
  • Collaborate with partners and senior associates on case strategies and client communications.
  • Engage in legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, and other litigation-related documents.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and in good standing with the State Bar of California.
  • 4-8 years in an employment law practice, ideally within a recognized law firm, focusing on employer-side litigation and class actions.
  • Proven proficiency in litigation processes and a strong understanding of employment law.
  • Excellent academic credentials from an accredited law school.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills; strong problem-solving abilities; client-focused approach.

Compensation:
The annual compensation range for this position is between $310,000 and $435,000 contingent upon qualifications and operational considerations.
