Title: Dispatch/Logistics Supervisor

Schedule: M-F 6am-3pm

Type: Direct Hire

Location: Galleria area, Houston

The Dispatch Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the dispatch team, ensuring efficient coordination and communication between drivers, customers, and internal departments. This role is responsible for managing dispatch schedules, resolving logistical issues, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction while adhering to company policies and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Management : Supervise, train, and mentor dispatch staff to ensure optimal performance and adherence to company standards.
• Scheduling and Coordination : Create and manage dispatch schedules, assigning drivers to routes based on demand, availability, and efficiency.
• Issue Resolution : Address and resolve logistical challenges, such as delays, driver issues, or customer complaints, in a timely manner.
• Communication : Act as the primary point of contact between drivers, customers, and other departments, ensuring clear and effective communication.
• Performance Monitoring : Track and analyze dispatch performance metrics, such as on-time delivery rates and resource utilization, to identify areas for improvement.
• Compliance : Ensure all dispatch operations comply with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.
• Technology Utilization : Oversee the use of dispatch software and systems, ensuring accurate data entry and reporting.
• Reporting : Prepare and submit regular reports on dispatch activities, team performance, and operational challenges to upper management.

Qualifications

• Education : High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred.
• Experience : 3+ years of experience in dispatch, logistics, or transportation management, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory role.
• Skills :
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in dispatch software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Problem-solving and decision-making skills under pressure.
• Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards.
