We are seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join a Closed Door/Long Term Care Pharmacy in PortlandMaine! This role is essential in supporting pharmacy operations, focusing specifically on prescription fulfillment and medication packaging no IV compounding required .
Day Shift : 8a-4:30p, 9a-5:30p OR 10a-6:30p.
Schedule : Thursday - Monday
Compensation : Full Benefits + Competitive Weekly Pay
Start : ASAP
Duration : 9-10 week contract till potential permanent hire
Position Overview:
In this position, you will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, assisting with prescription filling, packaging, and medication deliveries. Your work will directly support timely and accurate medication processing for patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with prescription fulfillment and medication packaging for pharmacist review.
Enter prescription and billing information into the pharmacy computer system for order processing and reimbursement.
Prepackage medications in accordance with pharmacy standards and government regulations.
Support pharmacists by organizing medications for final review and coordinating packaging and delivery of completed orders.
Help manage inventory, including receiving stock, rotating medications, recording lot numbers and expiration dates, and assisting with physical inventory counts.
Collaborate with the Technician Supervisor to maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment, including performing routine equipment checks.
Requirements:
Maine Pharmacy Technician License
Prior pharmacy technician or fulfillment experience
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively under supervision in a fast-paced, team environment.
