Job Summary: ViaKorp is looking to hire Unarmed Security Guards to perform security services in 8 buildings on at 22 acre site at U.S. Forest Service, Forest Products Laboratory, Madison Wisconsin during non-business hours.

Duties:

• Unarmed security guards shall maintain safe and secure buildings, perform access control, and investigate disturbances.
• The Unarmed Guards shall deter unauthorized personnel, property, or vehicles from entering the area(s).
• The Unarmed Guards must maintain a list of lost items, accept found items, and secure them until they can be transferred to the office.
• All gates and doors shall be closed to unauthorized outbound traffic and locked.
• Roving patrol shall be continuously on the alert for any occurrence by close and detailed observation of buildings, machinery, vehicles, equipment, and recording charts and gages.
• Security checks shall be made every 45 minutes of every hour using Patrol Clocks, access cards, keys, or other watchman reporting systems, of all buildings and equipment.
• The Guards shall shovel snow from the upper front steps to building 01 and the entry to building 33 and apply ice melt/salt if needed.
• The Guards shall raise and lower the United States Flag (and other flags as authorized) at the front of Forrest Products Laboratory’s building 1 at sunrise and lowered at sunset seven days a week. No deviations are permitted unless authorized.
• The Guards shall provide escort services after regular business hours when requested, and for the movement of valuables, and deliveries
• The Guards shall monitor all Alarm Systems.
• The Guards shall open and close gates, buildings, and doors within 10 minutes of the scheduled time

Requirements:

• The Unarmed Guards should have at least one (1) year of security guard experience.
• The Unarmed Guards shall be certified and or trained in the following areas of safety:
  • • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation & AED
    • Basic First aid
    • Fire Extinguisher training
    • Sexual Harassment training
• The Unarmed Guards shall be physically and mentally able to perform their assigned duties. They shall be in good physical and mental health and free of any physical and mental disabilities that would prevent them from performing their duties.
• The Unarmed Guards must maintain good conduct, appearance, and integrity
